An empty lot in Union City, New Jersey was in need of dire attention, but was mostly overlooked for years. The idea was to provide a mixed-use building on that site which would mimic a Parisian street closed off to car traffic, with a restaurant and pastry shop below featuring outdoor dining and two-bedroom, two-bath loft apartments above. The concept was of a dove in flight. The articulation of elements on the exterior of the building represent the rustling leaves in the wake of beating wings.
